gas honda

My 1998 Honda CRV occasionally does not accelerate when I give it the gas. Mechanics told me I need two oxygen valves/stems, one before the catalytic converter and one after it, to a cost of $350 just for the valves/stems. Could it be something simpler? Please responds ASAP, I have an appointment to have it fixed tomorrow morning.

I seriously doubt that the sensors are the problem.

Is the check engine light coming on?
