Knocking Noise after rotor replacement

I recently had my rotors, breakpads, etc. replaced on one side of my Nissan Maxima and driving off the lot I heard banging noises. I had the other side replaced and the banging noises still exist. What are these banging noises? I hear them mostly when I first start the car after it’s been parked a while.
