Honda stalls

MY 98 Civic is stalling a few times a week. Every time it happenes is at night and usually when I am stopping. There are no engine noises or hesitation and the lights and stereo stay on when it stalls. It has 100,000 miles so I replaced the fuel filter and that did not solve. Is this a common problem with Hondas? What could be the problem?
