Question

1990 Dodge Ram 150 3.9 liter engine, full size pick up

Sent to Car Experts January 07, 2005 4:42 a.m.

I want to know why my truck won't start. There's no gas pumping into the throttle body. I already checked the fuel pump and put in a new pressure regulator, but gas still is not coming out of the injectors. The car sounds like it wants to start but doesn't. What could be the problem?
Thanks

This system does not use a crankshaft position sensor per say, it uses a Hall Effect sensor in the base of the distributor. Crankshaft position sensors weren’t used until ’92 on these engines.
What problem has you searching for a crankshaft position sensor?

Do you have spark?

You said you checked the fuel pump and replaced the fuel pressure regulator but have actually checked the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge?
Have you used a noid light to check for injector pulse?

No I don't have spark but I changed spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and roter. No I haven't checked with a fuel gage because I don't have one and I don't have a noid light.
