Question

what would cause a car to stop running while driving

while driving the engine light comes on, speedometor stops working, and motor stops running. then when I restart the car I have to rev the motor at 60 rpms before the engine light goes off and the car to run.

 Check the trouble codes? Easy to do... need instructions? Do a google search on "chevy diagnostic codes" "gm diagnostic codes" etc. whatever instructions you use, all you need is a paper clip... don't buy a code reader.

Let us know what trouble code numbers you find. By the way, rev the engine to how many rpms?
