car has no power

I have a 2001 chevrolet Impala it runs fine in park but when you put it in drive and step on the gas the car boggs down so bad that it dosent want to take off the cheak engine light was on so I put it on a test and replaced the EGR valve the car still does the same thing what is wrounge with this car
