Have a 1990 olds. Cutlass Serria 4 cylinder automatic. Lights started going dim the car died. had to jump start it. Kept dieing. When I get it started it will set and idle. When I put it in gear it runs if just idleing.When I give it the gas it dies. When it starts to die all the lights will go out. Headlight,flashers, turn signals,dashlights etc.goes out. I have to jump start it. After starting all lights and etc comes back on. I puy on a new alternator on 2 months ago. A week Before this problem occured my muffler and tailpipe came off from the catalytic converter back. The catalytic converter is still hooked up.What would cause the car to die and after starting it and only idle till I give it gas? Never had problems till the muffler came off. I drove it very little after the muffler came off. Please let me know .Thank you very much. Cindy
