battery wire
Sent to Car Experts December 02 07:58 PM

I was boosting my car (with portable booster)the car did not start, I forgot to disconnect booster and when I turned the key on again part way,the thin wire that runs from the positive battery terminal (along the cable)thru firewall & under dash became red hot and burnt out (broke). How do I replace? Where does it go or attach under dash? what specific wire do I buy to replace?Have I caused any other damage?

Reply to jon_050's Post: it's a 1989 honda civic hatchback 16 valve 1.5 litre, the wire is a very thin one and turned red hot under carpet on passenger side where it enters thru firewall, completely burned and can't trace where it goes from there or if it was attached anywhere else under hood before firewall.
