why is my battery boiling over in my 1989 honda civic ...

why is my battery boiling over in my 1989 honda civic dx I have the same alternator that has been in it for two years so its not a matter of me putting in the wrong alternator.I just put in a brand new battery and it is boiling over too.

Already Tried:
replacing the battery

Hello

Chances are it's the voltage regulator and the battery is over charging

Unfortunately the newer ones are inside the alternator I'm not sure if your car has an external one but i doubt if it does
