Greetings! Sounds like u have a bad battery. I would rec to get it load tested at a shop or a battery store. This is the best test. Or u can take a voltmeter and put it on the battery and crank the engine over. If the volts drop below 9.6, the battery is bad and needs to be replaced!

This is not the problem battery is new and holds the load 14v when turning the key thing click in engine like relays funny smell of sulfer indicator lights blink and act erratic. Even with full charge the overhead lights seem dim like there is a major drain on system the starter never engages or engine cranks

The next step would be t check all battery connections. Not only at the battery but the side of the cables that go to the starter and the engine. All must be good and tight. If there is any corrosion, they must be taken apart and cleaned!

Sounds like u have a bad starter. An intermitant starter will work sometimes, all of a sudden not work, then start working again. U will need to catch it when it is not working and make sure u have batt voltage on both terminals when cranking. If batt voltage is present and the starter is not working, then the starter is bad and will need to be replaced!
