97 miata. I took off the head and replaced valve seals. 13 of 16 were torn and the engine was burning lots of oil. I put the head back on and very carefully installed the timing belt. The car started and ran smoothly, although there was more noise from the area of valves. After driving a mile, the exhaust camshaft sprocket bolt sheard off.
When I took out the camshaft there was considerable damage to the first bearing journal and camshaft. Oil presure is okay. Is there a trick to installing the exhaust camshaft.
