My car blows cold air when set on heat. It has a new water pump, but the problem existed before the old one was replaced. The blower seems fine??

Either way, heres the firt thing you shoud try. Replace the thermostat. 9 out of 10 times when you are having this problem it is the thermostat. If Its stuck open or closed, it will either heat up to operating temp and your thermostat being stuck will not let it circulate from the engine block to heat the rest of the water that circulates throught you heater cores and hoses to allow you propper heat. The other thin is that if its stuck open then the water doesnt have a chance to heat up in the block first because its always at a constant flow right at first so it doesnt stay in the block and build up the right water temp. I would replace the thermostat and also make sure the water seems clean of debbee and sludge. If the water(antifreze) seems good go with a new thermostat. let the car run for a while in park and keep feeling the bottom hose under the thermostat. When the thermostat opens you will feel that hose start to get hot. At this point you should then have the heat your looking for. Just make sure you put the thermostat in the same way the other one came out. Just be carefull and watch what end comes out first and put the new one in the same way. If the engine temp is not overheating then I really tend to think this is your proplem.
