I took my car to the garage in massachusetts and was told i had a loose pully on the water pump. So I was told then need to replace the water pump.ok...
Well they broke 2 of the bolts holding it on. So They went replaced the timing cover at for 300 for the part. Then since they had the timing cover off they went and replaced the timing chain...Then after putting it together it wouldnt start. It kept miss firing so they replaced the the oil pressure sensor and the camshaft sensor. total cost is $955.00
I never authrized any extra work..I drove it in there with a loose pully and they hooked it up to a computer ready and said there was NO CODES.
I cant afford 955.00 so they now have my dodge caravan and i got nothing. HELP ME PLEASE

Sounds like you need to find a better mechanic! I would ask how come they didnt just extract the broken bolts and replace them, maybe at an additional half hour of labor instead of replacing the timing cover. They should have never replaced the timing cover or installed a new timing chain without your consent. Bad situation, I dont know if you have any recourse. You might go and get your old timing cover and have another mechanic extract the broken bolts then tell the original mechanic to put your old cover on and re-install your old timing chain as you never authorized this, and offer to pay the original quoted price for the repair. Another note is the water pump is really easy to get to and broken bolt extraction would also be easy, worst case scenerio he would have just had to take the bolts out of the motor mount and lower the engine a few inches.
