My alternator recently fried and when I put a new one in, when the car started up the alternator got really really hot. So I checked for bare wires and I found a stripped bare wire that is connected to the plug that plugs into the distributor caps. Is this self-fixable or will it need to be taken into a shop? If it is self fixable what are some tips on how to get it done? Thank You.
