I have a 2002 Dodge Durango. Occasionally when I accelerate my car will make a loud nose as if the car is struggling to go, and then it will go away when I reach a speed of 40 miles or higher. It sounds like my radiator fan. I don't think it's my transmission because my car shifts fine once I reach a speed of 40 miles or more.

My car also tends to overheat when the A/C is on in bumber to bumber traffic. Some people told me this problem has to do with my radiator.

Please advise

The problem could very well be your radiator fan. The electric fan runs when the a/c is on to help to keep the refrigerant cool after being pressurized. If this fan does not come on you will experience overheating in stop and go traffic because the air is not flowing through the fins of the condenser and radiator to keep it cool. These vehicle also had some problems with the fan clothes on the mechanical fans not working properly and making it sound like you are flying an airplane. If this is the problem you will need to replace the fan clutch assy.
