I have a 2001 Toyota Rav 4. 89,000+ miles., On Friday my car started up fine, however when I stepped on the gas the car was sluggish (like brake was on). I drove a a coupl of blocks and took my foot off the gas to slow for a stop., but the car stopped in the middle of the street (engine was still running)., I had to step on the gas once again to move (even more sluggish). I turned around and went back however when I stepped on the gas I heard a crunching sound. I pulled over and had a really bad burning smell., and a small puff a white smoke come from under the car. I took it my mechanic and after a diagnotic, chemical, and road test - he found nothing..??!!! say's it's fine - any ideas? HELP PLEASE !!!
