I just had a new turbo engine put into my 2001 passat. The guy who did the work also put in a new battery because the car had sat for 7 months while worked to earn the money to have the work done. When he connected the new battery, a long beeeep kept sounding. I am sure this is part of the anti-theft system. When I turn the car on there is a display of a car with a key as the undercarraige. The car will start and if I start it up then pull the electric windows/sunroof fuse out, the beeeeeeeping stops and the car is operational. Is there anything that I can do other than paying VW to correct this?
