My car makes noise when pushing on the break. It sounds like when your anitlock breaks are working when you are slidding on ice but there is no ice. What can cause that? My breaks still seem to work and I did just replace all breaks about 4 months ago.

Is it like a grinding noise or is it more like a whirling noise?

I really wouldnt call it grinding more of a clicking or ticking noise and I can almost feel it in the break pedal when it is happening. It sounds like a centralized noise in that area as well.

Did you do the brakes yourself or did you have them done? What do you feel in the brake pedal, is it like a pulsation?

I took my car in to do the breaks at a local garage. I couldnt feel it the entire time in the pedal but it would correspond with some of the clicking. I guess you could consider it a pulsation. It was just a slight pressure coming back up that only lasted as long as the noise did.

It sounds like you may have a problem with your front rotors being out of round. If the got too hot at some point, or if too much metal was cut off of them during the brake job, this would cause your problem. Do you still have a warranty on the brakes?

I dont believe so, I think there was only a 90day on them and it was April when I had everything replaced. I guess we will start there. Thank you very much for your help with this.

Not a problem, is this something you are going to try and fix yourself?

I am capable of taking the tire off and taking a look but I dont do anything with my breaks-I can change oil but not breaks. I have a friend who can lend some assitance otherwise i will just take it back to the garage that did the work. Hopefully that is what the problem turns out to be and nothing further will need to be done.

Alright, I would have them look at the brakes and let you know what they need. If the problem is the rotors then I would ask them about why this happened so soon after the brake job and if they will take care of it.

Hi. i just wanted to let you know that we have not taken it in yet but my friend that works on cars drove it and we think it has something to do with the speedometer and not the brakes. The clicking only occurs when it gets down to 30mph and stops when it is under 15mph. my friend thinks it may be some sort of cable in there. That is what we are going to assume at this point. Thanks again for your help
