Towing a boat with a Ford Taurus SEL

I have a 2005 Ford Taurus SEL and we want to know if it is feasible to tow/launch a medium sized boat using this vehicle. There would not be a lot of towing just from our camper site to the lake across the street. My main concern is if we can launch a boat and take get it back out of the water. The towing max is 1,750 from what I understand. Do you feel this is possible?

Hello,

Alot of it depends on the boat size and wait. Also how steep the ramp is. I know I have towed bass boats with 4 cyl engines and they have done ok. Just make sure you have a good tow package on the car. Alot of people think you have to have a great big truck to tow. This is not true. Your car has a 6 cyl and has enough power to pull. If you do pull long distance or for extended amount of time you may want to get a trans cooler.
