I recently hit a car at a stop light and now I can't ...

I recently hit a car at a stop light and now I can't get my car in reverse or prak, is this an aligment problem, is this a big problem to fix, as in expensive?

Already Tried:
tried to put it in park and reverse, but no luck

It sounds like you have bent a bracket to your shifter control.

If you go to mechanic explain what has happened...he should be able to find problem quickly and make adjustment...otherwise the repair should be included in an insurance repair.
