Question

2004 deville brakes

Sent to Car Experts August 03, 2006 1:44 p.m.

at 32,000 miles the dealer said that ny brakes were bad, paid 600 to have brakes fixed,at 45,000 he said the front and rear brakes needed to be replaced because they could not turn the rotars again 400.00,this seems like a a lot of brake work for a car with 45,000 miles on it, am I wrong

I have a 2004 deville,45,000 miles,13,000 miles ago the dealer said I needed a brake job for 500.00 which I had done. Now he said that both front and rear brakes needed to be redone, the rears couldnt be turned so needed new rotars, the fronts could be turned, charge of 400.00 for the job. It seems excessive to me that a car with 45,000 on it would need 900.00 of brake work,am i wrong.

I don't believe you wore out both front and rear brakes in 13000 miles. Somebody is selling you something you didn't need.

Even the worst drivers usually get over 30,000 and the good ones can get 100,000 out of a set of brakes.
