I and my Partner got a Vauxhall sintra from a car company named ALL RIGHT AUTOS.
The finance company is F & T.
We’ve had the car for a year, the head gasket needs replacing, I got phoned around getting some quotes £500 to £800, I informed FT, I can get it done a lot cheaper, I know someone who will do it on the side, once the car is fixed can I trade it in for another one yes get your car valued and we’ll go from there.
Took my car to ALL RIGHT AUTOS left it there for a couple of days, it also needed the head sending off to see if it wanted skimming; a few days went by he didn’t phone, so I phoned, yes the car is done he’s taken it for a test drive everything is ok, he didn’t ask me if he wanted me to go ahead with the work, I asked can we trade it in, yes the car we so was from the same company, we got a quote £1750, for our car we phoned FT finance told him the offer, the car we’ve seen is £4000, that’s way to much can’t you get something cheaper, you can’t afford that, but yet he wants me to pay an extra £200 month for the work, When I ask for receipt and he tells me that the isn’t one, do I say can you get me one and send it the post, then sign, Do I sign bring the car home, telephone FT and tell him I’m not paying you £200 extra because you said we can’t afford a £4000 car but want us to pay £340 monthly, and the car was done on the side with no legitimate paper work. What should I do?
