Question

service engine light, airbag code 12, heater core bypassed

Sent to Car Experts July 24, 2006 11:07 a.m.

I Have a 1997 ford escort, I was reading a letter from someone else and they explained that the service light come on and the airbag light come on and the heater core was leaking.
Well my heater core was core was leakinf so I put a piece of tubing across it till I get chance to replacing it. But the service engine light is on and the airbag light is flashing a code 12, and the car runs like crap, falls on it's face and stalls when stopping and then takes off like a rocket. It is a 97' and has 160,000 miles but ran great till now, hate to spend the foolish money they get for new cars if there is still life in the thing.
Thanks You, In advance
Bill
