Auto Camry Toyota 93 , drived with hand-break on

I have toyota camry 1993 model, Yesterday, I put car in Park-Break(Hand break).
and after while driving , I forgot to take-off Park-break. so my car was running with Park-break -on. later, I found some burning smell. I stopped my car. after that I put park-break
in correct position and I drive, its look OK . but I am not sure. What I need to do ?
and why car run while car have Park-break/HandBreakON.
