what do i do when the car is blowing out smoke? i thought ...

what do i do when the car is blowing out smoke? i thought my car was overheating, but when i checked the coolant it was ok and i even bought coolant to fill up to that top and still everytime i drives it, there are smokes coming out from the left side of my hood. what should i do?
