Reply to MechanicMan's Post: I noticed that the tail pipe had some excess carbon(very black)on it so i decided to change plugs.car is running smoother after changing plugs. No engine light has come on and i thought it was time to change the plugs, air filter(instaled k&n)and oil.I noticed a couple of months ago that it seemed to run through the firing order half and half.it would Run smooth and run like one or two cyclinders werent on top of there game so to speak.I have some background in cars and something doesnt feel right. I posted a Question to mike earlier about reg or permium gas to see if a change of fuel would help keep it in shape. Car is well taken care of.

Reply to MechanicMan's Post: Plugs had carbon deposits around the bottom of the threads and i still get alittle popping like i have a hot cam but the idle is not as hard as it was.I am using shell gas instead of PDQ or SPeedway.I did check for vacuum leaks and am still looking at it.I would have to take it in for a scan since i dont have one.I bought this car brand new and i am the only driver.Warrenty took care of the fuel pump at a ford dealer where i bought it.Any other hints would be helpfull before i take it in to have it check and to give them some idea of what to look for.

Reply to MechanicMan's Post: plugs were black and burnt but the electrode had been exposed at the end.Imagine the end of a bic pen as something to visualize this problem.
