I have a1994 Dodge Intrepid with a 42LE electronic 4 spd auto transaxle. From a cold start there is no reverse and 1st gear is delayed (1st gear engages with a bit of a bump like shift after a 3 second delay by it self and sometimes after hitting the gas). When I am driving the transaxle will not change out it just stays in 1st (high rpm). After driving for a while (only when engine is pretty warm) if I shut the car off and restart it works perfect like nothing happened before. This only works after driving it for a while but not on an immediate restart before driving. I have since changed the fluid and the filter (using Chrysler ATF+4 and filter from Dealer)--there were some very very small dustlike metal fragments (about a teaspoonful amount). After doing so it started to work fine after getting the fluid up to a decent level. However, all the symptoms have return again. I am thinking that I may need to change the transmission control module. Prior to having problems with the transaxle I got a code 66 (PCM not receiving Bus signals)using the ignition key method but this code has long gone. I have also used tranny sealer before on about two or three occassions in the past but stop doing so.
Thanks in Advance
