the light service engine soon stays on all the time. we put a new oxygen sensor in, changed all oil and oil filters , checked for leaks, but it will not go off. Friends tell me there is a way to make it go off, i have tried everything they have said but it still stays on. My husband will not take it to emissions in fear of it failing. I have been a month without my car due to no tags. Can you help?

Already Tried:
pumping breaks, changing oil and filters, check for leaks, and unpluged battery also cleaned the battery and changed oxygen sensor
