Question

1991, Chevy Blazer 4x4 S10 won't start.

Sent to Car Experts July 02, 2006 7:54 p.m.

I have a 1991, Chevy Blazer 4x4 S10. The engine suddenly cut out while driving and would not fire back up. After a while, it fired back up and I made it home. Tried to fire it up again and it would't. Replaced : Fuel pump, fuel filter, 2 x relays on firewall in engine compartment, distributor cap and rotor, both fuel injectors and ignition module. Still would not fire up. Still no gas supply.

The car runs on starting fluid. It runs for a while and cuts out almost as if the ignition is turned off. Then it wouldn't start back up again. When it ran before it wouldn't start, it almost felt as if it was on cruise control. Lurking as if there was something prohibiting the engine.

We are going to have to narrow it down to why its not getting fuel. Check fuel pressure and check fuel trigger. let me know!

Fuel trigger is what signals the fuel injector. U can have all the fuel pressure in the world but if the injectors are not being told to open by the computor the car will not run. Go to a local auto store and ask for a noid light. That is what is used to check fuel trigger. While your there pick up a fuel pressure gauge. U should be able to get a cheap one for about 20 to 30 bucks. Cheaper than paying a tech to do it!
