I have a 2002 Honda CR-V. I recently put a deposit on a used Shasta Camper. The owner originally told me it was just 375 lbs(hard to believe) when we both looked up the registration we found out it is really 2400 lbs. A honda cr v like mine can only pull 1500 lbs. Can I pull this off ? Or what will happen if i try? Or how do I approach this guy to get my money back if my car cant handle it ?

Optional Information:
2002 Honda CRV 4cyl

Already Tried:
Tommorow I have to find out about a trailer hitch.

Your car does not have the powertrain or suspension capability to handle towing that vehicle.I don't know where he came up with 375 lbs maybe he meant tounge weight. The only thing you can do is go to guy and tell him it isn't going to work and he told you the trailer was 375 lbs.He may deny saying that and you may need to take him to small claims court. That usually gets enough attention to get your money back.Don't just jump right up front with small claims court talk to the guy first. In my dealings with other people most will be honest if there was a misunderstanding about the sale.If you try to tow the trailer you may wreck your car or ruin the engine and transmission. It's 2/3 at least of your cars total weight.
