flooded cylinders
Sent to Car Experts October 08 05:13 PM

I recently had a rebuilt engine installed in my car ( 1994 infinti q 45) V8 with fuel injection. The repair facility seems to be having a problem. It seems that upon start up 2 of the cylinders are flooding with gasoline and the repair facility is stumped. What could cause that to happen? I know it could be a number of things but could you please give me an idea!

After you shut the car off, the fuel rail still mantains pressure for sometime. The only thing that would cause the rail to depressurize rapidly is a leaking fuel injector. In your case it sounds like you have two(2) leaking injectors. Replace them and it should solve the problem.

I guess I should have been more specific on this issue. As I mentioned 2 of the cylinders in said vehicle flood with gasoline after start up.All the fuel injectors are brand new and have been tested, they all spray correctly. The spark plugs are also brand new, the car has had a full tune up.Seems like all the bases have been covered and the repair faciltity does not know where to go from here.

if the injectors are not stuc open and all the plugs are new there is no reason the cylinders should be flooding. what makes you believe they are flooding. also i would double check the injectors.
