Sent to Car Experts June 21, 2006 6:19 a.m.

I have a 2001 Dodge Stratus R/T with 3.0 V-6 and have problems with the EGR and Mas AirFlowSensor. I put it in the shop at the Dodge dealer and they couldn't fix it to where the service engine light would stay off. I have replaced the EGR valve once and it still has the light on, checked the tube leading to the Cat converter and it is clear. The dealer now claims there is a short or open in the harness causing the light to come on and it continues on. I had a Chevy dealer put it on his computer and he indicated a bad EGR valve and the computer needed an upgrade in software to fix a misfire problem. Can anybody help me, the car is running bad, has no power and will run good one minute and miss like crazy the next.

I have had the car in the shop 3-4 times for the problem and replaced the EGR valve, but the light is still on, dodge claims there is a harness problem. The car runs good on certain days and miss continious on another. Had it looked at again on computer just recently by Chev dealer and it showed EGR bad and needed computer update, I have spent close to 800 dllars trying to fix with no luck, have to disassemble the engine everytime this gos into the shop, gets real expensive.
