http://www.expertask.com/eregSHOULD I FOLLOW MY VEHICLE MANUFACTURES SUGESTION NOT TO REPLACE MY SPARK PLUG UNTILL 100,000 MILE MY VEHICLE IS A 1996 PONT SUNFIRE 2.2 LITER I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IF I WAIT UNTILL 100,000 MILES I MAY HAVE RUN THE RISK OF THE SPARK PLUGS SEIZING IN THE CYL HEAD THERE BY CAUSING HEAD DAMAGE AND THE POSSIBILITY OF HAVING TO REMOVE THE CYL HEAD TO EXTRACT THE SPARK PLUGS . ARE THERE AND PUBLISHED ARTICIALS ON THIS ?? IF SO CAN YOU DIRECT ME TO THEM ??? THANK YOU JERRY

This has happened on occasion. The manufacturer is using a platinum plug that is designed to last for 100,000 miles before needing to be replaced. If you are concerned with this happening to your vehicle I would suggest you remove the plugs and coat the threads with anti-seize compound. It is available at all parts houses and should be standard practice when you replace plugs in an aluminum head. Hope this answeres your question.
