honda won't start

1994 honda accord.Get in car turn key gas gauge shows empty( yet it has a full tank.)It just keeps turning over and won’t start. Get back in and turn key gas gague shows full and it starts right up.It starts only a few times, mostly does not start.

It sounds like you have a bad ignition switch. You really need to test the system with a test light atleast to see if everything is powering up when you turn on the key. my money would be on the ignition.

 I agree with bestservices. It sounds as if the ignition is bad.

Response to bestservices's Post: I think I can get away with just buying the electrical part of the switch to replace. I don't think I have to buy the whole harness and key. I am going to put it on a dio. this weekend. Thanks for your help!
