I have a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GT with 103,000 ...

I have a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GT with 103,000 miles. My car dies on the freeway and the trac off light comes on. Sometimes I can start right away and other times I have to wait 5 minutes or so. Any ideas what it could be?
