How do I restart my Sony CDX-C5000R car radio after a battery change. At the moment it just scrolls 'SONY-CD-RECEIVER-SONY-CD-etc.' I have pressed the RESET button as it says in the handbook, but the handbook gives no further clues. Pressing the SOURCE or the OFF buttons has no effect at all.

did you have the key in the on position while installing the new battery? if you can scroll then that means it has a good power and ground. The radio probley has an internal failure. Is this radio still under warranty? I would try to contact sony on this concern

This is not really an answer - the key position is not relevant as the supply is direct not ignition controlled. It is self scrolling and it seems to be in a "demo" mode, my question is how to get out of this mode. If I could find a Sony contact I would!
