79 L82 corvett, when it is running i put the gear in forward or back. the car does nothing?/?????Won't go in or out of gear?

Are you saying that you can't move the shifter or that it goes into gear but won't move when you let the clutch out?

sorry did i say standard i ment automatic. It does
not move when i put it into gear. kath
