I have a 1995 Oldmobile Aurora, why is it running hot?

I bought it 2 months ago and had no problems, everything looks and works like new and runs great, then the other day I thought I ran out of gas because while driving it home it quit on the side of the road, then after waiting on help and fuel to come it started and then while driving again the panel showed it was hot! and then I had coolant checked and had to have a bottom radiator hose changed, then next day noticed that the radiator fans was not working, well got them working and it still runs hot.
I am a single mom w/2 babies and a full time college student. This car is our only transportation. I spent everything to get us a car. I would love to pay for any advice but can't right now.

Already Tried:
I had bottom radiator hose changed and coolant refiled. And had the radiator fan checked.
