I have a 95 grand am. How can I trouble shoot the rad.

I have a 95 grand am. How can I trouble shoot the rad. fan. I put 12 volts to it and it ran. I put it in the car with a new temp sensor and the fan does not come on. Please help me figure out why the fan does not work in the car. Thanks
