I have a 2001 mitsubisi galant. It was overheating, so we replaced the thermostat. it then proceded to leak antifreeze slowly, and eventually every couple days it would overheat again. I asked the shop that was changing my oil to see if I had a loose hose, he said my thermostat was missing the gascet and to just replace that. we bought a new one, but it was too small. so i got one for a bigger engine (i have a 4 cylinder, so i traded it for a 6) it was also too small. the guy in the store told us we could make our own, so we did, along with purchasing another thermostat, at a different auto part store. the guy in that store said the gascet should be in the thermostat kit, which again it was not. so we put in the home made gascet made on cardboard like the guy in the store said. well, the car is still over heating, and now i cant drive it very far at all without it overheating! what is wrong???

Optional Information:
