changed starter on a 95 taurus. starter cranks over ...

changed starter on a 95 taurus. starter cranks over great but with key in on pos. cooling fan runs but fuel pump does not run, should be opposite.every thing was ok before starter change. checked plug ins all seems to be pluged in no crossed wires, sanded grounds.jumped power to fuel pump it runs.car will not start, have spark to plugs.
