lower end rod knock

I was told we had a lower end rod knock! we sold the truck to them two weeks ago. It didnt knock when we sold it to them! Is there some way I could have know prior to that , that there was trouble? It has 60,000 miles on the truck and no problems just passed smog, got a new car so I sold it,it didnt have enough speed for me.... HElp

had no problems until sell of truck and they brought it back for refund
