I have an 1996 Alfa 146 8 valve, which is a great cheap run around. The heater has ceased to function altough the fan works and the car is otherwise running normally and not overheating, coolant levels correct etc.
What are the likely causes
Where is the heater matrix/valve (There are no Hayes manuels for these cars) so I can at least try to get warm air into the car to clear the screen

Looking under bonnet in vain! Alfa dealer quoted £150, cars only worth 300 most!
