My name is jon I have a 1997 honda civic ex, d16y8 enginve vin. I was in the process of installing a distributor and read that i would have to jumper a two wire plug in the passenger kick panel to trick the ecm into letting me manually adjust the timing. I did this before replacing the distributor. It was the only two wire plug in the vicinity it is a blue plug that had a bright green boot over it and a black and a brown wire. after jumpering it the check engine light didnt flash it stayed steady and i lost spark. when i connect an obdII scanner it says "error cannot establish connection check connections," the connections were fine. I checked all fuses and then replaced distributor, igniter and coil. the car cranks but am getting no fire. Did i wipe the memory or fry the ecm? im stumped please help.... thanks .. jon
