i have 83 camaro, 2.8l . 5 speed. the car will run great at idle or letting off of the throttle but roughly ( no tact ) between 2000 and 3500 rpms the car will have a bad miss. it will catch ohmost as if it had been slippin at higer rpms and take off again. letting off the throttle it runs smooth. this only happens on acceleration while moving. increasing throttle at rest runs smooth with no appearent mist. it seems to be getting spark everywhere. any suggestions?

Yes, check the distributor cap for cracks. If a cap has cracks the spark will arc and you won't get full spark at higher RPMs. Also check the rotor and make sure it is in good shape, no cracks, the conductor is good, and that it is clean and dry. Also, pull out your no. 1 spark plug out and see if it looks like your getting too much gas. It should be dry with a dark brown color and not dark black and sooty.
