Hello: I am a 78 yr. old female with a 2002 Alero Olds. While driving thru heavy rain a few days ago all the lights on the dash flashed on. I was terrified that the car was mal-funtioning and would come to a sudden stop in traffic.   It didn't ...and I got out of traffic and drove to the dealership that I bought the car from just last Nov. When I pulled up to the service entrance door and was proceeding into the bldg., the lights all went out.
The mgr. said he didn't know what would have caused the problem, so just let us run a diagnostic check on it. (Read $90).   I pulled out and drove to a familiar service garage and asked them the same thing....."What caused this?". He too, said he would have to run a dignostic check (read $75).     Do I really need to speed this much money to find out? Could it have been moisure from the rain getting into the computer box.....and if so, should I be alarmed?   Should I wait and see if it happens again.   I live in a large city with a lot of traffic.    Any advice would be appreciated.
