i have a 2002 dodge neon es . it was wrecked slid ...

i have a 2002 dodge neon es . it was wrecked slid under a truck . it broke the headlight fender hood and bunmper cover . no major frame damage . i replaced all the damaged parts. the car sat for 1and a half years before it was worked on . i put a new battery and plugs in it . and the car started and ran fine . now the problem is when we put the headlight back in the car it stays on when the car is running and they are not supose to do that . but when you turn the headlight switch on the car dies it also dies when you turn on the heater fan. i have tried to reset it's codes no luck there . is there anyway you can help.
