Kia 2002

Sent to Car Experts March 01 07:58 AM

Kia Rio 2002. 12.000 miles. On the highway I feel like a trepidation, like the car is shaking a little. When i come to complete stop and press the brakes, I can hear(not always) a small metalic noise, like when you rub two samll pieces of metal. What is that and how bad, may affect inspection test?

It sounds like to me that you have a small amount of warped rotors on the front brakes. Also the noise you hear is probably semi-metallic brake noise caused by the pads. However I suggest you take the car in to your shop, just in case the brakes are worn out have them inspect it for worn brakes. Worn brakes may not affect inspection at all but can be dangerous if not repaired. Hope this helps. ThanksImages available only to Customers.

Do I have to change the pads, the rotors, or everything. How expensive would that be? Just bought the car from a dealer, it is in waranty, they are suppose to check the car in the shop tommorow, to make sure everything is o.k. Is this something they have to fix?
