I have a 2002 Ford Taurus SE. The car is making a chirping noise. Thought it was the idler pulley. Had it replaced and still chirp like crazy. The sound seems to be coming from the back of the engine towaards the cab. Can you help?

Already Tried:
replaced idler pulley and serpentine belt

OHV 3.0 liter. But I think the mechanic just called it a U.

Thanks for getting back with me.

Your concern might be the cam sensor and the syncronizer. To check this, you will need a mechanics stethoscope.

This unit is where the distributor use to go on the old 3.0 engines. It will be on the drivers side of the intake manifold. Here's a picture.
