Question

my car's battery light came on friday and went off

my car's battery light came on friday and went off like 5 min later. the car sat untill sunday night and i drove it about 30 miles before it shut down. I replaced the altanator today and let it ran for about 45 min. went out to leave for work put the car in reverse and it died. jumped it and got it going again went to put gas in the car and it died while i was pumping gas. any ideas what is wrong with it?
